Talk to your agent
In a private chat
Section titled “In a private chat”Just write. Everything you send is addressed to the agent — no mention needed.
In a group
Section titled “In a group”Address it in one of three ways: mention it by @username, reply to one of its messages, or — if Conversation is relevant is on — simply talk about something it can help with.
What you can send
Section titled “What you can send”- Text — questions, instructions, multi-step tasks (“research X, then write me a summary”).
- Photos and documents — it reads and analyzes them; files land in the agent’s workspace.
- Voice messages — it transcribes them. With Reply with voice on, it answers in audio.
- Links — it opens the page and reads it.
Long tasks
Section titled “Long tasks”Real work (research, coding, building an app) runs in the agent’s container and can take minutes. The agent keeps working while you do something else and posts the result in the chat when it’s done.
Stopping a run
Section titled “Stopping a run”Send /stop in the chat. It stops the current task and clears queued work. This is the fix for a bot that seems stuck — see The agent is stuck thinking.
Getting better answers
Section titled “Getting better answers”- Say what “done” looks like (“a 5-bullet summary”, “a working page with a contact form”).
- Give it the constraints up front — language, tone, length, deadline.
- Put anything it must always do into Rules instead of repeating it every message. See Customize agent instructions.
