Add your agent to a group

Add the bot

1. Open your agent in the Mini App.
2. Tap Add to a group and pick the chat. Telegram asks you to confirm.
3. Alternatively, do it from Telegram: open the group → Add members → search the bot’s @username.

To use the shared bot instead, just mention @claw in the group — nothing to add.

Give it admin rights if it should read everything

By default Telegram’s privacy mode means a bot only receives messages that mention it or reply to it. To let your agent follow the whole conversation (needed for summaries and moderation), make it an administrator of the group. See No replies in groups.

Choose when it speaks

In the agent’s Access screen, under Respond when:

• Tagged by name — only when someone mentions it.
• Replied to — when someone replies to one of its messages.
• Conversation is relevant — it joins in when the topic is something it can help with.

Turn all three off except the ones you want; a bot that answers everything gets muted fast.

Who pays in a group

By default every member spends their own credits when they talk to the bot. Turn on I pay for messages in the agent’s settings to cover the cost from your balance instead, so the group can use it for free. When your balance runs out, members fall back to paying for themselves.

Very large groups on the main @claw bot get simple answers for free.

Useful group settings

• See other bots — on the same Access screen: messages other TeleClaw bots post in the group enter this bot’s history. Telegram itself never delivers them.
• Remove from group — from the agent’s Groups list, which also shows every group it’s in.
• Scheduled digests — see Schedule recurring tasks.
